Nokia 770, das Handheld-Handy

Seit 2005 brachte das Unternehmen “Nokia” eine Reihe sogenannter “Nokia Internet Tablets” auf den Markt – es handelt sich hierbei um einen kleinen Computer, der allerdings mobil verwendet werden kann, wenn man unterwegs ist. Dabei sind diese Geräte vor allem auf die Nutzung des Internets ausgelegt. Daher verfügen alle Produkte der angesprochenen Serie über bestimmte Programme und Funktionen, um möglichst viele vom “World Wide Web” gebotenen Möglichkeiten auch ausnutzen zu können. Dazu gehört unter anderem natürlich ein Browser, um Internetseiten öffnen zu können, allerdings auch ein Programm, mit dem E-Mails empfangen und versendet werden können.
Das erste Handy dieser Serie war das Nokia 770, vorgestellt am 25. Mai 2005. Eigentlich war vorgesehen, dieses Gerät im dritten Quartal des Geschäftsjahres 2005 auf den Markt zu bringen – dieser Termin konnte allerdings nicht eingehalten werden und verschob sich auf den 01. November 2005. Wer sich zu diesem Zeitpunkt das Nokia 770 bestellte, musste trotzdem mit Lieferzeiten von mehr als vier Wochen rechnen. Die damaligen Käufer des Produkts dürften sich das “Internet Tablet” vor allem nach dem Lesen eines überzeugenden Handy Test zu diesem Gerät bestellt haben. Denn dieses Gerät konnte beispielsweise ein hochauflösendes Touchscreen-Display vorweisen mit einer Diagonale von 4,13 Zoll. Darüber hinaus besaß das Nokia 770 nicht nur einen herkömmlichen USB-Anschluss, sondern dieser wurde mit der “On-the-go”-Funktion erweitert, wodurch andere USB-Geräte über das Internet Tablet mit Strom versorgt werden konnten. Nokia gab an, das Gerät lasse sich bei intensiver Nutzung bis zu drei Stunden verwenden – die Praxis zeigte jedoch, dass noch längere Akkulaufzeiten möglich waren. Mittlerweile wird das Nokia 770 allerdings nicht mehr vom Hersteller angeboten.
